Don't already have the wealthy mindset? I'm not surprised.
I’m not kidding you. We are brainwashed from the time we are little children to make poor financial decisions. If you want to reverse all the damage that’s been done as a natural process of growing up in society, you must begin to change your thinking.
The following information will help you begin to think like the wealthy. This has the potential to dramatically change your mind, your life and your bank account.
Successful people love being a part of the 5% minority. Don’t let the 95% deter you.
If other people think you are doing something “weird” or “out of the ordinary” – GREAT JOB! Keep it up! You’re probably on the right track. Going with the flow (the 95%) is a sure way to an average, ordinary, dad gummed, dull, disillusioned, debt-ridden life.
Wealthy people never let their money control them
Often times, because people have let there desire for immediate gratification control their purchasing habits, decisions tend to be made out of necessity rather than choice.
For example, when debt is high and bills are due, jobs are taken based on the amount of salary earned rather than the amount of gratification gained from that job. Therefore people work out of necessity rather than choice.
One with a healthy financial mindset understands that life is best lived when he/she remains in control of decisions rather than being forced into them by poor financial choices.
To become financially free, you must understand the concept and appreciate the value of “delayed gratification”.
The financially independent understand that freedom is better than bondage and temporary pleasure
Creating wealth will require some sacrifices. You might not be able to have the brand new car or home right now. What you have to do is realize that paying cash for it later is much better than being a slave to it now.
The financially free understand the trade off.
Anytime you buy something on credit, you are actually paying with your blood, sweat and tears. You are trading your freedom, time with family, personal time for that “thing”. Is that new couch worth the extra time you’ll have to spend away from your kids in order to pay off that nasty interest payment? Understand the trade-off you make with every purchase.
People with wealthy minds have a clear vision of the future.
- The wealthy mindset envisions financial freedom.
This is a place they long to be because they realize that money, time and quality of life will all be in abundance for them at this point. It is this clear vision of a better life that allows them to make choices that short-sighted people are not able to make.
Those that are financially free understand that spending money and having “stuff” does not equal happiness
In fact, spending money on things that don’t produce income can be somewhat painful for those with the wealthy mindset. Learn to derive your happiness from freedom. The “stuff” will come with time.
Cars/homes and toys do not equal self-worth
When it’s all said and done, will it really matter what kind of home you lived in or what kind of car you drove. Think about it… When you are on your deathbed (as all of us inevitably will be) will you say to yourself “Gee, I wish I would have lived in a bigger home?”
Satisfying our immediate wants is a sure way to the poor house. Wants are fine, as long as they are satisfied with a check that will cash. Be patient and your wants can be yours without the bondage that comes from buying it now!
People with the wealth mindset seek opportunity.
The bible says “seek and ye shall find”. People with the wealthy mindset are always on the lookout for opportunity and guess what…they find it!
The wealthy mindset is decisive.
Typically, those with the wealthy mindset are decisive. This comes from the fact that these people have learned to think for themselves and draw their own conclusions about life.
They appear decisive because the make decisions that the 95% typically won’t make.
For instance, society says, “go to school, find a good company, get a good job, and stay until you retire.” One with the wealthy mindset may decide to quit a job in pursuit of a more lucrative or satisfying opportunity.
This “decision” comes from thinking and evaluating rather than “going with the flow” of what everybody else is saying or doing.
Those that achieve financial freedom understand the law of the harvest.
You get what you give. You reap what you sow. You get paid for bringing value to the marketplace.
Poor people expect to get without providing value. Wealthy people know that they must first plant, or provide value, before they can reap the harvest.
I promise you, it does not take long to develop the proper mindset. You’re life will be forever changed, in an incredible way, for taking the time to wrap your mind around these ideas.
